WidgetBucks Raises $10 Million

Widgetbucks, a widget-based ad network, has raised a $10 million second round from DFJ and past backer Ignition Partners. The company has previously raised about $10 million. It came from Mpire, a comparison shopping site; as such, the Widgetbucks service is geared towards transactional, e-commerce advertisers. The Seattle-based company is helmed by Matt Hullet, who joined Mpire in 2006 from Expedia. The company claims 20,000 publishers use the service and that its ads were seen by 100 million unique users in May. Release.
Seattle PI: “The new money will be used to add staff and target new sectors beyond the e-commerce niche, namely the online travel and financial services sectors. It also has begun tinkering with running display advertisements across the network.

Make Money Online With WidgetBucks

As you can see a widget in the upper right hand corner of this blog. Its a widget buck widget. I have added the widget to the blog many days ago but i did not make a post about making money with it.But i am discussing it now. Widget bucks have been launched last year. Many publishers joined the site.Widget bucks is a mpire's company. They are many best sites on their network but is it worth to join their company.
I have joined widgetbucks four weeks ago but till now i did not make good figures with widgetbucks. In beginning widgetbucks promised to pay $0.75 per click to its publishers. But i never got such amount for one click.Their widgets are quite impressive but it will be useful only for viewers not for the publishers. The widgets have scrolling feature. When ever users click on the product they will be taken to the mpire corporation website which shows complete info about the product like the price,at which store the product is available etc.
We can choose to display the widget we like on our website. After visiting so many website who are top publishers on internet i came to know nobody made big figures with their network.Instead of displaying widgetbucks widgets its better to display google ads or sell that ad space. Most of the people hate widgetbucks.

Here’s an example of a widget

I think the ads are pretty eye-catching, and, if configured using a size and color that will best complement your blog’s current theme and then incorporated into the layout properly, it won’t be a detriment to the blog’s overall aesthetic value.
So here are few facts about WidgetBucks:
PPC (pay per click) - make money when your widget is clicked on $50 payment minimum You can choose to have a check sent, or you can be paid via PayPal WidgetBucks does not require it’s publishers to be based in the United States. You can put as many widgets on your site as you want — no limit as to the amount Can be run concurrently with other ad systems, i.e. Google Adsense, Chitika MiniMalls, etc. WidgetBucks is owned by Mpire, an innovative meta search shopping engine dubbed “a shopping search engine on steroids” by Time Magazine and chosen as one of their 50 BEST website picks of 2007. If nothing else will persuade you, maybe this will: When you sign up, you automatically get a $25 bonus, which means, [insert drum roll here], that you are halfway to getting paid.

If you haven’t heard of WidgetBucks

If you haven’t heard of WidgetBucks and are looking for an attractive, innovative and definitely eye-catching, not to mention easy, solution for monetizing your blog, now would be a good time to check them out.
Darren over at ProBlogger reviewed WidgetBucks recently, and all in all, I would say his review of this company and of his experience with their advertisements so far is pretty positive.
There are a few different ad sizes to choose from, so you shouldn’t have a problem choosing at least one that you’ll be able to integrate nicely into your blog’s design, whether it’s on the sidebar, the footer, the header or within individual posts. The dynamic widgets can be configured to show ads a) based on the content of your site, or b) based on the parameters you specify.
